Stuffed Zucchini Blossoms in Yogurt Sauce
We continue our delicious Turkish food recipes series with a special recipe.
Ingredients
- 10 zucchini blossoms
- 1/2 cup cooked rice
- 1 small onion, grated
- 1/4 cup fresh dill, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh mint, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 teaspoon ground sumac
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the yogurt sauce
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Gently rinse and pat dry the zucchini blossoms. Remove the pistils carefully.
- In a bowl, mix the cooked rice, grated onion, dill, mint, olive oil, sumac, salt, and pepper.
- Stuff each zucchini blossom with the mixture and fold the petals to seal.
- Place the stuffed blossoms in a shallow pan, add 1/4 cup of water, and cook on low heat for 10 minutes.
- Mix yogurt, garlic, and olive oil in a separate bowl to make the sauce.
- Serve the stuffed blossoms warm, drizzled with yogurt sauce.
